        Established in 2008, the Markberg brand name is derived from its founders Mette Astrup (MA) and Rune Klemmensen (RK). Mette was inspired to create the company whilst attempting to purchase a new pair of gloves. She encountered difficulty in finding gloves that offered both the design details and the functionality that she required.

        Both from entrepreneurial backgrounds, Mette and Rune began turning their thoughts into actions with the aim of developing a new range of high-quality designer gloves. Following the initial success of their gloves range, they then began to develop bags, purses, belts, and other accessories.

        The Markberg brand is a mixture of business and pleasure. All items they produce have a modern look and carefully thought-out, functionality details. The company creates products with the ethos of wanting customers to fall in love with the design but to retain that love for a lifetime due to their emphasis on considered functionality.
